Fishing and Hunting

We have 2 stocked ponds available for use by our guests throughout the year. However, those who would like to fish within the park a fishing license will be needed. Fish found in the Big South Fork NRRA include:

• several types of catfish
• longear sunfish
• muskie
• several types of bass
• trout
• crappie

Fishing licenses are available for both Kentucky and Tennessee online.

Only a few units in the National Park Service allow hunting and the Big South Fork is one of them!

Along with small game such as squirrel and rabbit, there is also the opportunity to hunt big game. Big game found within the park are whitetail deer, turkey and wild boar.

Licensing requirements and hunting seasons are consistent with those of the Tennessee Wildlife Resources Agency . And just as with fishing licenses, hunting licenses can be bought online before coming for your trip.
